PT ALBA Tridi Plastics Recycling Indonesia is a joint venture led by ALBA Group Asia, with a significant investment to establish a greenfield plant in Kendal, Central Java. This collaboration is dedicated to supporting Indonesia’s ambitious goal of achieving near-zero plastic pollution by 2040. The company focuses on leveraging ALBA’s technological expertise to recycle PET beverage bottles into high-quality rPET flakes and food-grade rPET pellets. ALBA Tridi is committed to contributing to the circular economy and meeting the increasing demand for sustainable solutions in alignment with Indonesia’s long-term environmental objectives.
 
Your Purpose
As a pivotal member of the pioneering team for the new greenfield rPET recycling plant project in Kendal, Central Java, you collaborate closely with the Project Management and Technical teams, offering operational and production leadership throughout the plant design to commissioning phases. Your role involves undergoing training to introduce best practices to the site. There are two parts to this role. The first part is to ensure project excellence during the build and commissioning stage, and the second part is to ensure operations excellence once the plant is in full operations. You will bring along a strong work ethic and compliance to ensure the setup and operations are in compliance with various requirements. With strong communication skills, you engage with key internal stakeholders to ensure the successful commissioning of the plant.
 
You will create value by:
Project Excellence: Build and Commissioning
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager across all stages of plant construction of the new facility in Kendal. 
- Ensure adherence to local regulations, as well as internal company and regulatory stakeholders requirements, and alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the technical team to select optimal solutions in technology, machinery, equipment, processes, systems, permits, licenses, and certifications.
- Define plant management operating procedures, business processes, and identify system support needs to establish a streamlined operational framework.
- Provide critical input on organizational aspects, confirming the flow process, headcount requirements and qualifications necessary for efficient plant operations during the project phase.
- Work with health, safety and environment (HSE) team to implement comprehensive safety protocols, environmental sustainability practices.
- Collaborate closely with human resources to strategize and execute the recruitment, onboarding, and training plans in alignment with organizational culture. 
Operatioal Excellence: Production and Operations
- Lead and manage a diverse team comprising production, engineering and maintenance, quality assurance and warehousing.
- Implement and enhance safety protocols, environmental sustainability practices, and quality assurance procedures.
- Oversee the maintenance of machinery, equipment and facility to ensure consistent and reliable operation, integrating preventive maintenance practices to ensure reliability and optimum useful live time.
- Collaborate with the sales and procurement team on raw material sourcing and inventory management.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies, collaborating with relevant departments.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
- Implement and enforce policies related to health and safety, environmental sustainability, legal, and quality standards, integrating them into the plant’s daily work culture.
- Timely delivery of management reports on operational performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop, execute, monitor, and manage budgets and operating plans for effective goal delivery, cost-effectiveness, and financial sustainability.
 
Experiences & qualifications that will help you to be successful
- Engineering degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Expertise in PET recycling technologies, machinery, and processes is highly advantageous.
- Proven leadership in commissioning and managing a plant operations.
- Understanding of health and safety, environmental sustainability, and quality standards compliance.
- Ability to optimize production processes, drive efficiency, and ensure compliance in health, safety, environment, quality, and regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills promoting teamwork, respect, and operational discipline.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Experience in budget management, cost control, financial analysis, and comprehensive operating plan execution.
- Familiarity with global industry standards and regulations related to recycling and environmental sustainability.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
