Job Summary:
The AgriInput Procurement Specialist will oversee the procurement of agricultural input goods at the regional level. This role involves supervising procurement administrators, maintaining business relationships with suppliers, ensuring product availability, and contributing to the profitability of the agricultural input business by recommending competitive selling prices.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Procurement:
- Oversee the procurement of agri-input goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the needs of the region.
Supplier Relationships:
- Establish and maintain strong business relationships with principals and suppliers.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best deals for the company.
Product Availability:
- Ensure the continuous availability of products by managing inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers.
- Monitor market trends and adjust procurement plans accordingly to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
Market Analysis and Pricing:
- Conduct market analysis to understand current market conditions and trends.
- Recommend selling prices for agri-input goods based on market conditions and competitive analysis.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align pricing strategies with business goals.
Profitability Contribution:
- Contribute to the region’s profitability by optimizing procurement processes and negotiating favorable terms.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the procurement process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Able to communicate using English.
- Proven experience in procurement within the agricultural sector, especially agri-input (saprodi) seeds, fertilizers, chemicals
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct market analysis and price recommendations.
- Able to travel within the region.
