Job Overview :
The Business Development role for Tilapia By-Product Sales focuses on maximizing the value of by-products generated from processed tilapia. By-products include fish frames (skeleton and head), skin, scales, meat trimmings, bones, and entrails. This position ensures that these materials are sold efficiently, maintaining quality and price, while minimizing waste and storage time.
Job Descriptions :
- Drive direct sales of by-products from the processing plant
- Identify and mitigate delays in buyer pickup to prevent product accumulation, which leads to quality degradation and price reduction.
- Ensure that sales meet the standard pricing set for calculating the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for the processing plant.
- Build and expand a network of buyers to ensure rapid, timely absorption of by-products.
- Maintain consistent product quality and pricing to achieve the highest value
- Continuously improve the selling price of by-products, meeting or exceeding established targets
- Record daily data on by-product availability and sales.
- Provide regular updates and ensure no by-product accumulates or remains undelivered each day.
- Ensure fair and accurate fulfillment of buyer orders based on quantity requested and FIFO (First In, First Out) principles
- Release orders according to FIFO to ensure product freshness and timely delivery.
- Work closely with other teams to manage the sale of dead fish and undersized fish harvested from ponds.
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Fisheries Science, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in sales, preferably in the food or by-product industries.
- Strong business development and networking skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with supply chain and sales operations, particularly with perishable goods.
- Ability to maintain and update sales/product data systematically.
- Knowledge of product quality management and FIFO (First In, First Out) processes.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on product quality and timeliness.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address sales challenges and delays.
- Willingness to travel and develop new market opportunities.
- Experience working with plant operations, logistics, or processing teams is a plus.
