Job Description: Assembly Superintendent (Footwear Industry)
Position Overview
The Assembly Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the assembly production process in the footwear industry. This role ensures that production targets, quality standards, and safety measures are met while effectively managing the workforce. The Assembly Superintendent acts as a leader and subject matter expert, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor daily assembly production plans to meet targets.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources, equipment, and materials to achieve production goals.
- Track and report production progress, addressing any deviations or delays.
2. Process Optimization
- Identify and implement improvements in assembly processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor production metrics and analyze data to ensure consistent output quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, planning, and quality assurance) for process alignment.
3. Safety and Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and provide training to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including environmental and labor regulations.
4. Quality Assurance
- Oversee product quality during the assembly process, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Lead root cause analysis for any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with quality control teams to maintain consistent standards.
5. Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise, train, and mentor assembly team leaders and workers.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration and accountability.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement development plans for team members.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in assembly production (preferably in the footwear industry) at a supervisory or leadership level.
- Strong expertise in assembly processes, production planning, safety management, and quality control.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities to address production challenges.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
