About the role
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team in a JAPANESE RESTAURANT in Semarang, Central Java. As a full-time position, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations and ensuring the highest standards of Japanese cuisine are consistently delivered to our customers.
What you’ll be doing
- Plan and design innovative Japanese-inspired menus that showcase your creativity and flair for flavour
- Manage and mentor the kitchen brigade, providing guidance and training to maintain exceptional food quality and presentation
- Ensure strict compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Monitor inventory, forecast ordering needs, and manage the kitchen budget effectively
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to implement new initiatives and streamline operations
- Lead by example, fostering a positive, high-performing kitchen culture
What we’re looking for
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or equivalent role in a reputable Japanese restaurant
- Proven track record of leading a successful kitchen team and driving continuous improvement
- Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, cooking techniques and food presentation preferably SUKIYAKI / TEPPANYAKI
- Excellent problem-solving, multitasking and time management skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to inspire and motivate the team
- FLEXIBLE WORKING TIME , On public holidays and weekends
