Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Linux Engineer at Livecom located in Semarang. The Linux Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, Linux system administration, system administration, and infrastructure management. Other tasks include maintaining and improving system performance, developing and implementing security policies, and ensuring system backups.
Qualifications
- Troubleshooting, Linux System Administration, System Administration, and Infrastructure management skills
- Experience in maintaining and improving system performance
- Ability to develop and implement security policies
- Experience in ensuring system backups
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working with virtualization technology
- Experience with cloud technologies like AWS and Azure is a plus
The main tasks:
- As a Linux engineer, you are at the beginning responsible for the daily activities. For example, the system checks customers, administrates the system customer setting, and reports problems before they occur.
- Perform preventive maintenance on customers’ systems regularly.
- Providing assistance and support to new projects.
- System installation, configuration, and implementation (on a remote base).

Job Requirements:
- Experience as a Unix engineer.
- Knowledge of Unix / Linux (one of the two is required).
- TCP / IP networking with proven experience in these areas.
- Preferred telephony knowledge, ISUP, ISDN, and SIP.
- Knowledge of VMWare, Nagios, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, Firewalls, and Routers is preferred.
- Fluent English language in words and writing is mandatory.
- Flexible, no 9 to 5 mentality (because of shifted working times /time zones).
- Communication skills, and customer service.
- Can work independently as well as in a team.
- Do not think of problems but solutions.
- You need to live in or close to Semarang or are willing to relocate
