About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Translator fluent in both Mandarin and English to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating a variety of documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency in both directions: from Mandarin to English and from English to Mandarin. This role requires a high level of language proficiency, cultural understanding, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate from Mandarin to English and from English to Mandarin.
- Ensure translations maintain the original meaning, format, and tone of the source material.
- Proofread and edit translations to ensure grammatical accuracy and adherence to style guidelines.
- Maintain a glossary of terminology used in translations to ensure consistency.
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Provide cultural context and advice to enhance the quality of translations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Language, English, or a related field. Relevant certifications in translation are a plus (Minimum HSK 5)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional translation experience.
- Native or near-native fluency in both Mandarin and English.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills, with an excellent command of grammar, syntax, and idiomatic expressions in both languages.
- Deep understanding of cultural differences and the ability to adapt translations accordingly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to handle diverse translation projects.
