Purpose Statement: The Continuous Improvement Technician II, reporting to the Site OpEx Manager (or assigned by the Site CI MGR) is responsible to support in the factory all continuous improvement projects such as: Create layouts, physical movements, take standard times, Capacity Analysis, process balance chart, management all current movements, participation in all continuous improvement initiatives and kaizen events – this is a practical Gemba role.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- PROCESS OPTIMIZATION: Assist the Continuous Improvement Engineers in general projects and experiments that reduce costs and improve the manufacturing flow of products
- Able to work cooperatively in a team & cross functional team(s) as needed
Able to maintain a level temperament in a stressful environment
Openly and proactively shares information, knowledge & experience with co-workers
Willing to take on additional assignments - PROCESS OPTIMIZATION: Perform time studies, cap model as needed to demonstrate the expected output for an operation, for cost recovery systems, and for factory layouts. All t support Value Stream Transformation and Transformation Cost Improvement work.
- Support site’s Operational Excellence/Lean Steering Team to achieve targeted financial impact.
- Consistently completes assignments or work requirements on time without compromising on quality
Uses time effectively to manage workload/tasks
Individual throughput goals are met - Understands and follows Plexus quality policy guidelines, customer specifications and adheres to regulatory compliance
– Monitors own work to ensure quality standard is met
– Looks for opportunities to improve quality and eliminate waste at work
– Delivers work in way a that eliminates scrap or rework
– Keeps supervisors informed and escalates issues when needed
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- Technical Diploma or equivalent. Studying for Lean Six Green Belt Certification from BQF (British Quality Foundation) or ASQ (American Society for Quality) OR equivalent from Motorola or GE. Project Management Certification from PMI (Project Management Institute) or recognized equivalent.
- 2 to 4 years experience in Industry in a technician level role.
