Job Description
- Acting as L1.5/L2 technical operations for break-fix and incident response
- Manage database systems for efficient storage and retrieval of data
- Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations
- Ensure data security, integrity, and availability through proper backup and recovery plans
- Monitor database performance and recommend optimizations for queries, indexes, and overall system efficiency
- Support with development teams or client engineers with managed database solutions
- Troubleshoot database issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions
- Identify and assess database vulnerability patches provided by the corresponding vendors
- Create documentation including standards, procedures, and knowledge base articles
- Join client call on technical discussion as required
- Support the operations on-call rotation
- Pro-active engagement for improvement of overall infrastructure operations and managed services
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Work Experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Proficient in database management systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and DB2
- Good understanding of database security principles and best practices
- Good understanding of database backup and recovery solutions
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Familiar with ServiceNow CMDB or ITSM / ITIL framework
- Meticulously drafts technical specifications and thoroughly documents system changes.
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
